Ware Hall House has a great hall that is the largest room in Ware Hall and reaches up two floors of the house. All meals are served in the main hall and the large open fire is often lit in winter time although there is full central heating.

Ware Hall House was originally built in about 1450 for a wealthy Hertfordshire monk. The house retains the gallery that circles the house and joins the west end first floor bedrooms with the east end rooms. The house has been rebuilt 100 miles from its original position, but the main construction and charm have been maintained - and extra windows have been sympathetically inserted to increase the natural light.

Ware Hall recent history is quite intriguing: The House is called Ware Hall as it was originally built in Ware Hertfordshire and Ware Hall stood in the centre of the town for nearly 6 centuries. The position of Ware Hall came under threat from the local council who wanted to demolition it in 1965 as it was then deemed to be impeding progress by delaying the building of a central roundabout in Ware. The full story is continued below and we encourage all who are interested to read the account.
